The funds for this program come from The Safe, Clean,
Reliable Water Supply Act of 1996; section 78645. This part of the Act
is known as Proposition 204 Drainage Sub-account. The Act directs funds
for programs to deal with agricultural subsurface drainage water by developing
methods of using it, reducing its toxic elements, and concentrating, separating
and utilizing its salts. The Act also requires that priority be given
to source reduction projects and programs.
